Pumpkin Pete’s Big Glow-Up: A Halloween Story About Friendship and Inner Light

A Halloween picture book about Pete, a small pumpkin who dreams of becoming a glowing jack-o’-lantern. When larger pumpkins make him feel small and unimportant, a cheerful firefly named Flicker helps him discover that true light comes from inside the heart, not from size, candles, or carvings.

With help from firefly friends, Pete learns that even the smallest pumpkin can have the biggest glow. The story emphasizes kindness, friendship, self-confidence, teamwork, gratitude, and believing in yourself. It is described as a gentle, non-scary Halloween story with soft autumn illustrations and a positive moral: “It’s not the size of the pumpkin, but the glow inside your heart that makes you shine.”
